Georgy Yakulov (1884-1928)

Georgy Bogdanovich was Armenian artist, stage designer and former member of group Blue Rose. He was born in Tiflis and  studied at the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture (1900–02). First exhibited in 1906 ("Association of Moscow Artists"); prior to 1917 took part in the exhibitions of ihe "World of Arts" group, and also in exhibitions in Vienna and Berlin. Rose to prominence as a stage designer after the Revolution.

 Painted the sets for many of the productions in the Moscow Kamerny Theatre, the Habima Theatre Studio, for V/agner's opera Rienzi. etc. One ot his last works was the designing of the designing of the sets for the production of Prokofiev's ballet Le Pas d'acier, by Dia- ghilev and later on the stage of the Grand Opera in Paris.
